Ubuntu and the coolness

So i installed Ubuntu onto my computer fulltime. I was getting sick of Windows and the slow ups. I am surprised how much Ubuntu has changed. The look of it still is the same. But the fact that they support NTFS read and write file systems now makes life a lot easier. And instead of taking like 4 hours to play World of Warcraft through wine, it only took a half hour.

Wow With Ubuntu Linux

Of course Ubuntu crashed right after this screen shot because i changed the playing mode back to regular and it does have some glitches (wine that is) but still is working great. I do get a little bit lower frames per second though, it isn't its normal 120 to 150 fps, it is now 40 to 80 fps. I'm fine with this and it doesn't bother me as much.

There has been some trouble with sound, but i figured it out. I have to praise the developers for coming this far. I am hoping eventually we will be able to emulate direct x pretty well. Don't get me wrong, Opengl is fine, but windows has the capabilities that i don't think ubuntu/linux will never have with gaming. I blame the gaming industry and microshaft for this. Oh well....

I am still going to keep the Mac OS on my macbook though. I like it too. Maybe that is because Mac's are kind of a sister to the linux industry.

I'm happy and hopefully won't EVER change back to dirty old windows YUCK!

On the computer I'm currently on, I get (max) 15. On the one downstairs, I get 60 max...
That isn't fair. O_O lol

Glad it's working out for you. Ubuntu (and Linux) really are growing fast... the question is how much faster than everyone else.
